Since 1998, my entire life has revolved around travel. Education, travel. Work, travel. Fun, travel. When your life and career revolves around travel, you thrive with a life on the go. Go, See, Do, Repeat. I lived for those take offs and landings, that chance to discover new places and the simple joy found in the first hellos that led to greater connections. In all corners of my life, travel was the focus, until 2020. Suddenly the world came to a halt in a way that no one could have predicted and no one saw coming. Travel ceased as we knew it. That excitement and those connections seemed to fade. Life seemed (temporarily) doomed to be nothing more than the screen of a computer and a mask (if we dared to venture beyond the safety of our own front door). I felt lost, but I didn't hide. Afterall, I often said "losing should never be an acceptable outcome." I soon realized that it wasn't so much the take offs and landings I missed, as much as the human connection. Slowly, people found new ways to connect. Those simple greetings began to grow, hellos began to happen, and friendships grew as we reconnected, stronger than ever. What's that saying about losing never being acceptable? We either win, or we learn. I learned how important it was to me when friends took the time to show they cared and spent a moment to just say "Hey, Wassup? How are you?". That Wassup raised my spirits, and sparked a passion and Wassup World was born. Connection begins with a simple greeting. Genuinely say "Wassup World" and you'll never know a stranger.
